Based on Mem Fox’s classic picture book, the stage production of Possum Magic has been stylishly embellished into a rollicking Australian musical – complete with lamingtons, pavlovas and vegemite sandwiches! Since the world premiere season in 1990, it has become the most successful Australian musical for children ever produced for the stage.

Possum Magic is the tender tale of baby possum Hush, made invisible by Grandma Poss in an effort to keep her safe from snakes. The adventure begins when Grandma is unable to reverse the “bush magic” spell and both she and Hush set off across Australia to try to find the solution.

A work full of imagination, charm and humour, Possum Magic features larger than life-size puppets, original music and a cast of multi-talented performers. First published in 1983, this national tour will celebrate 25 years of magic and is sure to be the highlight of Australian children’s theatre for 2008!
Tickets will vanish like Bush Magic!

 Revegetation Days with Baynton-Sidonia Landcare
Saturday, 19 July 2008 Would you like to help make a difference to the environment? Come and plant local trees and shrubs with us this winter!

The Baynton Sidonia Landcare Group has an ambitious aim to get about 6,000 seedlings into the ground this planting season. And we need help!

There are several planting bees scheduled for the months of May, June, July and August.

Saturday 16th August includes a Direct Seeding of native vegetation Demo.

Anyone who is enthusiastic and energetic is most welcome to join us. Families are (obviously!) welcome. All tools are provided. And we always provide excellent refreshments and/or a meal (usually including local wine) and a very friendly, fun atmosphere. The projects we are planting up this season include:

Saving several species of local trees and shrubs that are on the verge of extinction locally (banksias, casuarinas and dianellas).
Creating a demonstration garden of local native understorey plants.
Restoring understorey plants to Prendergasts Lane to replace all that gorse that will be gone by August.

Cosentino returns is to Kyneton by popular demand….. You wanted him back and we made it happen….

Cosentino’s brand new production ‘Threshold’ will take you into the mysterious depths of your imagination as you witness the art of illusion, dance and escapes. Utilizing controlled mentalism and by manipulating the mind, body and soul, Cosentino proves that even the human body can surpass its limited threshold.

Cosentino’s ‘Threshold’ follows in the footsteps of his 2007 Helpmann Award nominated production ‘Evolution’, with its successful formula of dazzling magic and illusions blended with energetic dance, dangerous and nail biting escapes, audience participation, humour and many surprising twists.

This show must be seen to be believed. Cosentino leaves audiences on the edge of their seats.
